Thanks for your comments Mimi. The name of the company purchasing the property is MWK Properties, LLC. Town leaders say that they only paid $5 for their water rights to the pond and for the 5-acres section of land that they own, so $60,000 - to them - is a good profit. Also, town leaders say they were not looking to sell the land; they were approached by a real estate agent representing MWK Properties. SCE&G owns another 11 acres of land near the pond. MWK Properties also had a bid out on that portion of land.

I had someone comment on Facebook that she would like to see the old Blockbuster building, the old Taco Bell building and the car wash behind them torn down and replaced with a nicer restaurant. What do you think about that? Would you rather see the whole area repurposed? What would you want to go there?

Hi Frank. The police report didn't list a race or any other description of the man other than what I included in the story. The report said store employees were pulling records from another store where they believe the same man previously made a purchase. So it looks like they are hoping to identify the man they way.
