Session with Gov. Nikki Haley Packs Mauldin City Hall

South Carolina's governor was in Mauldin to meet constituents.

According to Mauldin officials, it was the first time a South Carolina governor has spoken at City Hall. And it showed. An overflow, standing room-only crowd turned out to attend a town hall with Gov. Nikki Haley. Watch the entire Town Hall in the attached video. The event lasted about an hour and Haley took questions from the audience, inviting the crowd to "ask me anything." Haley spoke about her successes and challenges during her first 20 months on the job. She said that while much has been accomplished, much still needs to be done, particularly in the areas of ethics reform, election reform and most importantly, the economy. Supporters: Despite Baggage, Gingrich Right Choice

After the town hall held at the Blue Marlin in Columbia, Patch asked those attending Thursday's event what they thought about the former House speaker.

More than 250 people gathered at the Blue Marlin Thursday for former House Speaker Newt Gingrich's last campaign stop before Christmas. After the town hall, guests told Patch they thought Gingrich was the best candidate for president despite his personal history or baggage.
