A 77-year-old Leesville woman has been identified by the Lexington County Coroner's Office as the victim of a fatal collision Friday afternoon, authorities said Saturday. Joyce Long Gray was driving a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria westbound on Cedar Grove Road in Leesville when she struck part of a plow being pulled by a tractor in the eastbound lane. Gray, who was wearing a seat belt, lost control of the vehicle, ran off the road and hit a tree, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said. The accident happened around 3 p.m. The driver of the tractor, 53-year-old Contreras Martinez, has been charged with leaving the scene of a collision involving death and driving left of the center lane. Irmo Police charged a Lexington man with driving under the influence and child endangerment after a traffic safety stop on Lake Murray Boulevard. Richard Chase Rodgers, 27, of Lexington, was arrested on April 21 during a traffic safety checkpoint on the 800 block of Lake Murray Boulevard in Irmo. When the officer requested to see Rodgers driver's license, he said he could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage from the driver's window and noticed Rodgers' eyes looked "bloodshot and glassy," according to an incident report.
