The 53rd Lexington County Peach Festival

Activities are already underway.

Happy Independence Day! If you're still in town and looking to show your spirit, there's still time to head out to the 53rd Lexington County Peach Festival. This year's festival is being held at Gilbert Community Park. The parade began at 9:30 a.m., but the festivities will continue until fireworks at 10 p.m. Most activities will be free, including an antique tractor and farm equipment display, a car show, a Revolutionary War re-enactment and the first-ever Peach Festival volleyball tournament. For those who didn't get enough from the Miss South Carolina Pageant this weekend, there will be more beauties on display as well. What to do this Fourth of July Weekend

The Fourth of July weekend is full of fun festivals and activities for everyone in the Lexington area.  Some of South Carolina’s biggest Independence Day celebrations will be happening just a short drive away. Saturday July 2 Celebration on Lake Murray This family-friendly event goes on all day Saturday at Dreher Island State Park.  The festivities begin with a boat parade at 12:30 p.m. and wrap up with South Carolina’s largest Fourth of July Fireworks display at dusk.  Normal park admission fees ($2 for adults, $1.25 for seniors and free for those less than 15 years old) apply.  Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged and picnics are permitted. *Note: Parking for fireworks show will stop at 8 p.m. to ensure access for emergency vehicles. …
