Report: Men Stole Hard Drive From Walmart, Tried to Sell It at GameStop

Police say the two men took an Xbox hard drive from Walmart and tried to sell it at the GameStop down the street.

Lexington police arrested two Pelion men they say stole an Xbox 360 hard drive from Walmart in Lexington last week and then tried to sell it at GameStop. Zachary Schmitt, 19, and Matthew Gonzales, 24, are each charged with shoplifting and trespass after notice.  The men took an Xbox 360 hard drive from the Walmart at 5556 Sunset Boulevard and tried to sell it at the GameStop at 5454 Sunset Boulevard, according to a Lexington Police Department incident report. Gonzales went to the electronics section of Walmart around 3 p.m. on May 16 and took an Xbox 360 hard drive off the locking hook, damaging the package, according to the report. Lexington Cops to Raise Money for Special Olympics

The 2013 Cops and Calabash fundraiser kicks off Wednesday at Fatz Cafe in Lexington.

The fourth annual Cops and Calabash fundraiser for the South Carolina Special Olympics will take place Wednesday through Friday at Fatz Cafe in Lexington. Lexington County Sheriff’s Department deputies and Lexington Police Department officers will work as servers, and any cash tips that customers leave will be donated to the Special Olympics.  Customers also will be able to leave donations for Special Olympics at their dining tables during the fundraiser. The fundraiser takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.  For more information about Cops and Calabash, contact Lexington County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Report: Women Use Baby Bag to Steal Clothes from Lexington Store

Police arrested two women on charges of shoplifting from Kohl's.

Two Lexington women were arrested after police say they used a baby bag to steal more than $400 in clothes and jewelry from Kohl's on Sunset Boulevard. Megan Elaine Russell, 20, and Logan Grace Finklea, 19, are each charged with shoplifting. The two women entered the store around 7:20 p.m. on May 7, according to a Lexington Police Department incident report. Finlea was carrying a baby and a diaper bag.  Police say Finklea and Russell stuffed more than $400 in clothes and jewelry into the diaper bag, then went to the checkout and paid for a few items in their shopping cart. They then tried to exit the store without paying for the items in the baby bag, according to the report, but were stopped by a loss prevention officer.  Lexington Police…

Police Search for Men Who Stole $2,000 in Electronics from Lexington Walmart

The men broke into a locked case at the store on May 6, according to a report.

Lexington Police are looking for two men who stole more than $2,000 in electronics from the Walmart on Sunset Boulevard last week.  The men entered the store around 10:40 p.m. on May 6, according to an incident report. One of the men broke into a locked cabinet and took four Nexus tablets.  Both men then headed to the infants section of the store where they put three of the tablets in a USC backpack they also picked up in the store, according to the report. One of the men put the fourth tablet under his shirt and then put on a jacket.  They both exited through the grocery side of the story, according to the report.  The men were both white, according to the report. Update: Lexington Man Arrested on Domestic Violence Charge

The 32-year-old was also charged with illegal possession of a firearm and breach of trust.

Update, May 10, 8:53 a.m.: Lexington Police arrested Charles Andrew Simmons, 32, Thursday night.  He was being held at the Lexington County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing. Original story, May 9: Lexington Police are searching for a man wanted on charges of criminal domestic violence, illegal possession of a firearm and breach of trust.  Charles Andrew Simmons, 32, is described as white, about six feet tall and 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.  His last known address is 110 Buckhaven Way in Lexington, according to police. Report: Man Stole Tennis Shoes, Socks from Lexington Store

A man walked out of The Shoe Department on Sunset Boulevard with a pair of Nike shoes and Adidas socks.

Lexington Police are looking for a man they sale stole a pair of tennis shoes and a pair of socks Saturday from The Shoe Department on Sunset Boulevard.  The man took a pair of white Adidas socks and a pair of white Nike Airmax Torch 4 shoes from the store around 5:45 p.m., according to an incident report. The shoes and socks were worth about $62. The man is described as white, about 6-foot-1 and 150 pounds with short red hair and a beard, according to the report. He was wearing a white Lizard's Thicket t-shirt and light-colored blue jeans.  Anyone with information about the incident should call the Lexington Police Department at 803-359-6260.

Report: Man, Woman Stole $600 in Car Batteries from Lexington Walmart

The man and woman left the store in a blue Isuzu Rodeo, police say.

Lexington Police are looking for a man and woman they say stole nearly $600 in car batteries last week from the Walmart on Sunset Boulevard.  A loss prevention officer told police he saw a woman pushing a shopping cart with six car batteries out of the store exit around 6:20 p.m. May 1, according to an incident report. He stopped her and asked to see her receipt.  Just after the loss prevention officer stopped the woman, a man came up behind him and pushed him, according to the report. The man and woman then ran out of the store, got in a blue Isuzu Rodeo and turned right onto Sunset Boulevard.  They loss prevention officer recovered the batteries, according to the report.  The woman is described as white with brown hair, between 30 and 35…

Man Charged with Drinking, Smoking Marijuana in Grocery Store Parking Lot

The 50-year-old Lexington man was arrested after police found alcohol and marijuana in his car.

A Lexington man is facing drug charges and a drinking in public charge after police say they found him smoking marijuana and drinking beer and vodka in his car in the Publix parking lot on Old Cherokee Road.  John E. Bodine, 50, is charged with simple possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and drinking in public.  An agent with the State Law Enforcement Division called Lexington Police around 6:30 p.m.on April 26 after he said he saw Bodine "take a hit off the pipe, then take a drink of beer and then a drink of liquor," according to an incident report.  When the police officer arrived and searched Bodine's car, he found a black case in the passenger's seat containing a pipe and a small bag containing a green leaf-like substance …

Report: Men Stole Air Guns, Computers, Flashlights from Walmart

Police are looking for two men who cut a hole in the garden center fence at Walmart and loaded guns and electronics into their pickup truck.

Lexington Police are looking for two men who stole more than $3,000 in air guns, assault rifles and electronics Saturday from the Walmart on Sunset Boulevard.  Video surveillance shows two white males pull up in a red extended-cab pickup truck near the fenced lawn and garden area around 10 p.m., according to a police report. The men used a tool to cut a hole in the fence.  One of the men then entered the store through the grocery area and went to the lawn and garden area, according to the report. The man went back to the outdoor area and put three air rifles, four air guns, two air hunting rifles and two assault rifles into a shopping cart.  The man pushed the cart with the guns to the lawn and garden area and unloaded them near the hole …

Lexington Man Charged with Taking Pictures Under Woman's Dress at Target

The man ran from the store, but police later arrested him at his grandmother's house.

A Lexington man is charged with voyeurism after police say he lifted a woman's dress and used his cell phone to take pictures underneath it Thursday at the Target on Sunset Boulevard.  Michael Paul Hicks, 35, was arrested after police later found him at his grandmother's apartment. He was also charged with simple possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  The woman told police she and her three children were walking down the toy aisle around 7 p.m. when she felt someone pull on her dress, according to a Lexington Police Department incident report.
