Break-In at Home of Lexington Sheriff

Deputies respond after alarm sounds

Even sheriff's can become victims of crime. Lexington County police responded to a break-in at the home of Sheriff James Metts yesterday. When police arrived, they found evidence of forced entry and the house in disarray, according to The State newspaper.  The report also says entertainment equipment may have been stolen. Sheriff Metts declined to comment on the break-in. If you have any information about the incident, call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
