Vandals Add Touch of Clemson to Williams-Brice

USC officials are investigating after a tiger paw was painted on the Gamecocks football field.

University of South Carolina officials are investigating after a tiger paw was found spray-painted in Williams Brice Stadium. The paw located on the 30-yard-line of the Gamecocks football field was found earlier this week at the school. USC cornerback, Victor Hampton posted the attached photo on his Instagram account Tuesday. USC officials are treating it as a vandalism on their home turf. According to WACH Fox, the words "Go Tigers" also were painted on a caboose outside the stadium. Will there be retaliation? Speak Out! Tell us what you think.

Oh Please! Just because some Clemson fans have no class, don't put us all in the same catagory. How do you even know they were Clemson fans, anyway? Could be sabotage. You never know.   more ›

Clemson's Boyd Returns for Senior Year

The junior quarterback said he plans to hold off entering the NFL draft.

Tiger fans are celebrating the triumphant return of Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd to the gridiron next year. The junior quarterback announced Wednesday that the NFL would have to wait until after his senior season. Clemson defeated LSU 25-24 in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl on New Year's Eve to finish with an 11-2 record, the Tigers' best mark since the program's 12-0 national championship season in 1981, according to the Associated Press.

I think Abo sold him a bill of goods like Climpson's done for years up there. He's basically giving up a year of maybe earning $500k or $600K and he won't improve any more. Too bad for him, good for Climpson coaches.   more ›

Photos: Clemson Beats LSU, 25-24, On Last-Second FG

Here are some highlights from the game.

Clemson scored nine points in the final few minutes of Monday night's Chick-fil-A Bowl to defeat LSU, 25-24. After a DeAndre Hopkins' TD pass from Tajh Boyd brought Clemson within 2 at 24-22, the Tigers' two-point conversion failed. But Clemson forced an LSU punt after three short plays and Boyd drove Clemson down the field for a game-winning 37-yard field goal as time expired.

As a Clemson fan I was completely surprised by this game. After we decided to run our all-world wide receiver up the gut and he fumbled and got injured, I thought we were in for another West Virginia. Hats off to the players for being tough and sticking this one out to the end!   more ›

On Sunday night, South Carolina Coach Steve Spurrier encouraged Gamecock fans to purchase tickets with other USC fans from Gamecocks Online here. The Gamecocks are 1-1 all-time against Michigan, but Spurrier has never faced the Wolverines.  The Tigers will be heading to Atlanta to play LSU in the Chick-fil-A Bowl in Atlanta. The game is on Dec. 31 and matches the ACC and the SEC's versions of Tigers who play in Death Valley. LSU is 2-0 all-time against Clemson. The …

USC Fans Top Clemson's in 'Donate Life Duel'

Gamecocks fans edge Tigers in a competition to get more people signed up as organ donors in SC.

The Gamecocks not only beat the Tigers on the football field this weekend. While the USC Gamecocks this past Saturday were making history by beating the Clemson Tigers four straight years for only the second time in history, Gamecocks fans had a first by besting Tiger fans in the fourth annual 'Donate Life Duel,' a competition between the two rivals to see who could sign up the most people as life-saving organ donors. Donate Life South Carolina, LifePoint, and The Heather Trew Foundation announced Monday that the 2012 Donate Life Duel signed up more than 1,400 organ, eye, and tissue donors in this year’s competition.  Fans of the Gamecocks won the friendly duel against Tiger fans for the first time in the challenge’s four-year history. …

Wow...That was surprisingly easy. (Thank you Mr. Clowney) Did it with a backup QB, too, and no Lattimore! Gee whiz, who knew that Wofford would be the biggest in-state challenge to the Gamecocks this year?   more ›

Clemson Loss Breaks Haley's Win Streak

Gov. Nikki Haley was 3-0 in friendly wagers with other governors

The Clemson Tigers weren't the only ones to see a successful run come to a disappointing end during Wednesday's Orange Bowl loss to West Virginia. Gov. Nikki Haley's streak of three-consecutive wins in friendly wagers against other governors also came crashing down. Haley won bets with Florida Gov. Rick Scott, Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell and Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman during the past seven months, as South Carolina's college teams achieved unprecedented success. But Wednesday night, West Virginia Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin finally got the best of Haley  and will get to enjoy some Lowcountry shrimp and grits, thanks to the Mountaineers' 70-33 victory. Haley previously won a key lime pie after the University of South Carolina won its second-…

Bowl Tickets Going Faster at USC Than Clemson

2,000 tickets remain for USC, 9,000 for Clemson

Both South Carolina football powers are going bowling in Florida next month, but one team may have more company than the other. Clemson University will face West Virginia during the FedEx Orange Bowl Jan. 4 in Miami and the University of South Carolina will play Nebraska during the Capital One Bowl Jan. 2. Despite the excitement surrounding Clemson's ACC title and Orange Bowl berth, the Tigers' ticket office has only sold 8,500 tickets out of the 17,500 they are responsible for. At this point, the university could eat more than $1 million in unpurchased tickets. "We still have 9,000 tickets that we can sell," Assistant Ticket Manager Tina Middleton said. "I guess with the timing of this game and the location that it may keep some people at…
