Screen grab from WCSC shows charges against worker.
John A. Kauth April 18, 2014 at 06:22 pm
On the face of it this is absolutely ridiculous. However it does mention in the article that theRead More construction worker became abusive with the officer. It's the old saying that you attract more bees with sugar rather that vinegar. In many situations the officer has a choice of doing nothing, issue a warning or write out the full ticket. In this case the behavior of the construction worker may have determined the officer's choice. I do hope the ticket is reduced or thrown out when this gets to court. With that said who is the knucklehead that made the decision not to allow free refills? I can not think of a single instance of a self serve soda fountain that does not allow free refills while you are on the premises. Can you imagine McDonalds putting up such a sign not allowing free refills? Sound like a very poorly run facility.

I got a ticket from the Charleston police because a wheel on my car was a little over the line inRead More the parking lot.

I suspected it. All the SC Congressman except Joe Wilson voted against the Farm Bill. TheyRead More probably wanted deeper cuts to the Food Stamp program. Mulvaney, Duncan, Gowdy and Mark Sanford voted "no." When will we ever learn SC? And all you poor, unemployed, working poor of District 1 are you still happy you voted for Sanford.

Graham and Scott voted against the Unemployment Insurance Extension. What do you think SC? LetRead More them eat cake? Scott I'm especially disappointed in you. You're a long way from your heritage.

Just what I figured. Graham and Scott both voted against the budget bill. Even though it cut foodRead More stamps, had no tax reform provisions and reduced the funding for SEC (Wall Street) regulators. let's be honest SC. Graham and Scott don't represent most of us, they represent the rich. If you're poor, working poor, middle class, black, Hispanic or moderate white you SHOULD NOT vote for these people. You're voting against your own interests and embarrassing SC in the eyes of the country. Lindsey Graham is a professional secong-guesser (ie Susan Rice) and a war monger (Iran) while Scott is a nobody a "cypher." We can do so much better.

The SC legislature passed a bill allowing concealed weapons in bars. That's great. Mix alcohol andRead More guns, real smart. And some politician was smugly saying "what's the point of having a concealed weapons permit if you can't use it anywhere you want?" Is he crazy? And why is the legislature wasting all those hours debating Weapons in Bars and Nullification when SC has so many serious problems. We should vote out the lot, almost all of them but Pale Rider is probably happy with guns in bars.

It figured. Graham and scott voted against cloture on the Extended Unemployments Compensation BillRead More while SC has one of the highest unemployment figures in the country. Between them and Nikki Haley's not signing up for expanded Medicare we (SC) is ruled by the self-serving, and callous. Wise up SC, we are being manipulated and you don't see it. And why doesn't Lexington Patch cover stories like this?

Why do you think Lex Patch has no news or stories about our Congressional delegation, Senators orRead More Congressmen. They used too. Who got to them? Joe Wilson, Lindsey Graham, Nikki the Gov? A note to lex Patch. it's bad journalism to prevent open debate, bad journalism and cowardice. And it's exactly the kind of thing Joe Wilson would orchestrate. He wants you ignorant and quiet. And Gov Nikki, why do you deny Medicaid to the 100's of thousands of poor SC's that need it? You need to look at Kentucky, a decent governor that has his people's interests at heart.

Did y'all see the story on WIS about the lady that has $1M in healthcare bills from two accidentsRead More that weren't her fault. It broke her. And she couldn't get insurance after the first accident because it was a "pre-condition." So now under Obamacare pre-conditions are out, "caps' are out, you can keep kids on your insurance until 26 when (hopefully) they can support themselves. So Joe Wilson and the other SC "twits" in Congress. Tell again why you're opposed to this program? It only does good for SC. WIS said 60% of all bankruptcies in SC are medical debt related. Some poor family struggles to sav, maybe for college, their uninsured kid gets sick and "poof" all their money is gone. Why would you fight so hard to preserve that?

Well, it happened again. The LAX shooter used a .223 AR-15 assault rifle. I wonder if LindseyRead More Graham ever sees his hypocrisy. He votes against background checks or any restriction on assault weapons then he threatens blocking federal appointments over 4 people killed in Benghazi. Not to say the 4 don't count but we've had 9,900 killed in the US since Newtown.

Why do you think Lexington Patch doesn't run any stories on our Congressional delegation these days?Read More Are they afraid of controversial threads?

Call your and write your congressman/woman and senator. Write the President, sign this petition.Read More This shutdown is harming many families in the mid lands and the looming debt ceiling will cause greater and further economic harm. It is unfortunate our elected officials can not be trusted, nor do they act for the peoples interest but rather their own. This seems to be a common theme lately..... including local police, and elected officials.
