Lexington County Fire Service oversees and coordinates 20 fire stations throughout the county, manned by a combination of professional and volunteer firefighters. The service works in concert with emergency medical services and local law enforcement. In addition to fire suppression, the service also provides training to firefighters, and education on fire prevention. The service also is responsible for arson investigations and the issuance of burn permits.
