Lions Club Collecting Eyeglasses, Hearing Aids

The sheriff's department is working with the Cayce-West Columbia Lions Club to collect new and used eyeglasses and hearing aids.

The Lexington County Sheriff's Department and the Cayce-West Columbia Lions Club will start collecting new and used eyeglasses and hearing aids Monday. 

They will be donated to the South Carolina Lions Charitable Services in support of their mission to help children and young adults who have problems hearing and seeing.

Three Fountains Resident Deputy Stacey Gadson, who is also a member of the Cayce-West Columbia Lions Club, is coordinating the sheriff's department's participation in the third annual Recycle for Sight and Sound.

New and used eyeglasses and hearing aids can be donated between June 17 and July 1 at the following locations:

  • Lexington County James R. Metts Law Enforcement Complex, 521 Gibson Road, Lexington
  • Batesburg-Leesville Leisure Center, 227 Highland Avenue, Batesburg
  • Cayce City Hall, 1800 12th Street, Cayce
  • West Columbia City Hall, 200 North 12th Street, West Columbia
  • Springdale Town Hall, 2915 Platt Springs Road, Springdale
  • Tri-City Leisure Center, 485 Brooks Avenue, West Columbia
  • Lexington Leisure Center, 108 Park Road, Lexington
  • Pelion Senior Center, 210 Pine Street, Pelion
  • Gilbert-Summit Senior Center, 409 Broad Street, Gilbert
  • North Region Service Center, 111 Lincreek Drive, Columbia
  • Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church, 3050 Leaphart Road, West Columbia
  • Boy Scout Troop 425, Zion Lutheran Church, 226 Corley Mill Road, Lexington
