Fundraiser to Benefit El Dada Family Set for Friday

The fundraiser benefits the daughters of a Richland County Sheriff's deputy who died in a motorcycle crash along with his wife.

The Richland County Sheriff's Department is holding a fundraiser to benefit the daughters of a deputy who died in a crash last month along with his wife. 

Derek El Dada and his wife, Leigh El Dada, died June 20 after an SUV ran into their motorcycle in Saluda County.The couple left behind two teenage daughters. 

The proceeds from the chicken bog fundraiser set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Zack's Sandwich Shop at 3512 Bush River Road will go to the El Dada daughters.

The fundraiser is a cooperative effort between the sheriff’s department, the Columbia Police Department, Schroeder’s Towing and Zack’s Sandwich Shack.
