Pelion High Grad Dalton Freeman Awaiting NFL Draft

Dalton Freeman, a four-year starter for the Clemson Tigers, is expected to be drafted Saturday.

The NFL draft runs Thursday through Saturday, and standout Clemson center and Pelion High graduate Dalton Freeman has a shot at having his named called this weekend.

Freeman is expected to be selected Saturday when rounds four through seven are announced, according to Tigernet.com.

The NFL website lists Freeman as a "durable, high-character leader in the middle of the Tigers’ offensive line," but notes that NFL coaches want to see more "strength and athleticism" from him.

Freeman, whose father Ben Freeman coached him in high school, moved on to be one of Clemson Coach Dabo Swiney's standout players. 

Freeman started each of the last 49 games of his career, breaking the Clemson record for most consecutive starts, according to Tigernet.com.

The American Football Coaches Association named Freeman First-Team All-American. He was the first Clemson center to ever make a First-Team All-America team.
