Students, Parents Prepare for River Bluff High Opening in August

Athletic tryouts, band meetings and other informational meetings are all underway.

With about eight months before the opening of Lexington One's newest school, River Bluff High, parents and students are preparing for the transition.

Principal Luke Clamp has been meeting with community groups to outline the instructional vision for the new school. The next "Vision Visit" is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Jan. 22 at Midway Elementary School.

If you can't make it to one of the "Vision Visits," you can view Clamp's presentation on the River Bluff High website. A virtual tour of the school is also available.

Athletic tryouts for some of the school's teams start next week, including soccer, baseball, golf, softball and tennis.

The district announced last week the hire of David Bennett as the athletic director and head football coach. Varsity baseball and basketball coaches were announced in June.
