Red Bank Elementary Student Wins 'Read with the Gamecocks' Competition
LJ Bonavilla read 1,864 between Nov. 19 and 30 and won an invitation to the Lady Gamecocks basketball game.
A Red Bank Elementary School student won the Highest Reading hero award for the first grade in the Read with the Gamecocks program.
LJ Bonavilla read 1,864 pages between Nov. 19 and 30. As the first-grade winner, he participated in the Lady Gamecocks pregame high-five tunnel on Dec. 21 and received a plaque from the team.
The statewide Read with the Gamecocks program challenges students to read as many pages as they can during a designated time period. This program promotes literacy and rewards students with incentives, including invitations to South Carolina basketball games.
