New Assistant Principal Hired for River Bluff High
Jacob Nathaniel Smith III, who is currently an assistant principal in Lexington District Two, will serve at Lexington One's newest high school starting in July.
Jacob Nathaniel Smith III will serve as an assistant principal at River Bluff High School, Lexington County School District One announced Friday.
Smith, who is currently an assistant principal at Brookland-Cayce High School in Lexington School District Two, has 10 years of educational experience.
He began his career as a biology, physical science, outdoor adventure and physical education teacher at Spring Valley High School in Richland School District Two in 2003 and was promoted to administrator there in 2006. Smith moved to Brookland-Cayce High School in 2010 as assistant principal and even served as interim principal in 2011.

Smith received his bachelor’s degree in physical education with a minor in biology and his master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of South Carolina.

In Instructional Services, the district also announced the hire of Erica K. Bissell as reading and language arts coordinator in Instructional Services.
Bissell has nine years of educational experience and currently serves as director of instruction in Lexington School District Two.
Holly Sullivan was also hired as science coordinator in Instructional Services, the district announced Thursday.
