Lexington One Students, Teachers Receive Awards from USC Reading Program

The USC Reading with the Gamecocks program challenges students to read as many pages as they can during a designated time.

Midway Elementary and Red Bank Elementary students and teachers received awards for their participation in the USC Reading with the Gamecocks program that challenges students to read as many pages as they can during a designated period.

The program recognizes students and classes with the highest number of pages read at the end of the contest.

Midway Elementary teachers Elena Colmenares and Jennifer Berry received awards for having the highest class totals in the state for fourth and fifth grade respectively. Midway Elementary student Isha Borhara received an autographed basketball and plaque for being named one of two overall Highest Reading Heroes for all grades (K–5) and for the fifth grade. Anushka Shrivastava and Aarushi Shrivastava received plaques for being named overall Highest Reading Heroes for kindergarten.

Red Bank Elementary student LJ Bonavilla received a plaque for being named the overall Highest Reading Hero for first grade.
