  • Lake Murray Elementary students Madeline Owens and London Saunders
  • Midway Elementary students BJ Callaham, Jenaiah Callaham and Vanessa Sanderson

They were selected to perform with the prestigious choir after being nominated by their music teacher and performing an extensive audition that included an echo melodic pattern, harmony and an a cappella piece.

Once accepted into the choir, students began practicing with their music teachers to prepare for the concert at the S.C. Music Educators Convention, held from Feb. 7 to 9.

At the convention, Lexington One students joined with other students from across the state to form the S.C. Honor Choir. Students rehearsed together for more than nine hours and finally performed for music educators attending the convention.
