Lexington One Student Attends Military Engineering Camp

Jake Cameron was one of 40 students chosen from a nationwide pool of students for a military engineering camp in Mississippi.

Jake Cameron, a junior at Lexington High and a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) student at the Lexington Technology Center, was selected to attend the Society of American Military Engineers/U.S. Army Engineering and Construction Camp in Vicksburg, Miss.

He was one of 40 chosen from a nationwide pool of students who excel in mathematics and science and are interested in engineering careers.

At the camp, professional engineers from Vicksburg’s wide-ranging engineering community guided students in hands-on lab activities in geotechnical, structural, hydraulics and other engineering fields. Cameron and his fellow campers gained a wealth of knowledge about the various career choices in the fields of engineering and construction.
