Lexington One School Lunch Prices to Increase

The board meets Tuesday at River Bluff High to approve the increase.

The Lexington County School District One Board of Trustees will vote Tuesday on an increase in school lunch prices for the 2013-2014 school year.

The board is holding a special-called meeting to approve an increase in its school lunch program fees due to a mandated increase in the National School Lunch Program, a federal program. The United States Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Service office informed districts that, if they charged less than $2.59 for paid lunches, they were required to adjust.

Last school year, Lexington One students paid $1.25 per breakfast and $2.50 per lunch.
