Lexington High Alumni Raise $10K for Lexington One Educational Foundation

The Lexington High Class of 1978 sponsored the Come Back to Give Back event.

Lexington High alumni “came back to give back” and raised $10,000 in support of their high school alma mater and Lexington County School District One.

The Lexington High Class of 1978 sponsored the Come Back to Give Back event to raise money for the Lexington One Educational Foundation.

“We created Come Back to Give Back because our class wanted to acknowledge the exceptional education and experiences we received while attending Lexington High School,” said Debbie Lightsey Hundt, president of the LHS Class of 1978.

The event, which took place on June 15, in celebration of the Class of 1978’s 35th reunion, featured a benefit walk and an evening social with a live auction. The walk was open to all Lexington High alumni, staff, friends and supporters who wanted to help raise money for the foundation. Graduates from 1975–1981 attended the evening social and enjoyed a night of reconnecting with fellow Lexington High alumni.

“The Lexington One Educational Foundation thanks the organizers of Come Back to Give Back, their corporate sponsors, and the LHS alumni, staff and supporters who helped raise $10,000 for the foundation. Their generosity will help the foundation further its goals of providing 21st Century learning experiences for our students,” said Connie McFarland, executive director of the foundation.
