Irmo High's Savitz May Coach Soccer at New River Bluff High

Premature reports are surfacing that Irmo High School Soccer Coach Phil Savitz may be moving to River Bluff High School.

Irmo High School Soccer Coach Phil Savitz may be moving to Lexington One's River Bluff High School, which is set to open in August, according to a report in The State newspaper

River Bluff High Principal Dr. Luke Clamp would not confirm to The State that Savitz was hired. Savitz also declined to comment. 

The Lexington One Board of Trustees must vote to approve all personnel recommendations. According to The State, the board did not vote on the hire of Savitz at its Jan. 15 meeting.

The 2013 season will be Savitz's 33rd year as head coach of the Yellow Jackets. He has led Irmo soccer teams to 13 state championships.

Savitz reached his 600th win in March when Irmo beat Lexington.
