White House: Sequestration Will Cost SC Millions in Education, Military Funding

The Obama administration released new state-by-state reports Sunday on the impacts of impending military cuts.

Impending across-the-board budget cuts — called sequestration — will cost South Carolina millions of dollars in funding for education and military funding, according to the Obama administration.

The White House released new state-by-state reports Sunday night on the budget cuts' impacts.

Last week in Easley, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said he is disappointed with how Congressional leaders have handled the issue of sequestration. He said sequestration could be devastating to the country's military personnel and to the economy.

“Sequestration – in Latin, that means, 'Congress doing really dumb things,'” Graham said.
