Road Work Starts at US 378 Near Corley Mill Road

The road improvements are expected to take six weeks.

Road construction is underway on Sunset Boulevard near Corley Mill Road and Ginny Lane in conjunction with the opening of the new River Bluff High School this month.

The S.C. Department of Transportation will add new pavement on Sunset Boulevard before Ginny Lane, allowing for a new configuration at the intersection, according to a news release from the Town of Lexington. A new traffic signal will also be added.

Crews will be pouring concrete, milling, paving and striping. Road work will be done during non-peak hours between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m., but crews will still be working off the pavement during the day.

Additional lanes will be created during the construction process, and town officials are asking motorists to adhere to posted signs and follow traffic control.

The project is expected to take six weeks. It is in advance of the Corley Mill Road Improvement Project, which is slated to be complete in September 2014.
