West Columbia's Nikki Setzler has been voted Senate Minority Leader by his colleagues. The 18 member Democratic delegation gave Setzler the nod to replace John Land (D - Clarendon), who is retiring.
Setzler, whose 36 years of service are the longest in the Senate, withstood a challenge from Republican DeeDee Vaughters to get another term in office, winning more than 60 percent of the vote last week.
