A Lexington woman died Wednesday after she was injured earlier in the week when the motorcycle she was riding collided with a deer, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.
Lynne M. Wilke, 48, was riding on the back of a 2003 Harley Davidson with a 55-year-old Columbia man on Fox Glen Road in Lexington Sunday, according to the highway patrol.
Around 4:55 p.m., several deer ran into the road, according to the highway patrol. The man hit one of the deer and laid the motorcycle down on the left side. Wilke was ejected from the motorcycle.
Wilke and the driver were not wearing helmets, troopers said. They were both transported to Palmetto Richland.
The man suffered minor injuries, troopers said, but Wilke died from her injuries Wednesday at the hospital.
