Report: Army Vet from West Columbia Was Carjacked, Robbed

Police say 21-year-old Hassan Williams was carjacked and robbed in Thomasville, Ga., before he was shot and killed.

A 21-year-old Army veteran from West Columbia, who was killed in Georgia last week, was carjacked and robbed before he was shot, according to reports. 

from multiple gunshot wounds in Thomasville, Ga., last Tuesday. Thomasville Police Department has arrested four people and charged them with first-degree murder in connection with Williams' death. 

Investigators have now filed additional charges against the four people, according to WALB News 10.

Chaquel Cook, 18, and Alvin Davis, 20, face charges of cruelty to children, aggravated assault, armed robbery, hijacking of a motor vehicle, and arson for burning Williams' car, according to the report. Kiera Shanise Graham, 22, and Kimberly Deshaundra Williams, 26, faces charges of cruelty to children and arson.

The four were charged with cuelty to children because police believe at least on child was present when the crimes were being committed, Lt. Eric Hampton of the Thomasville Police Department told WALB.

Hassan was born in New Jersey, but attended Brookland-Cayce High School in West Columbia, according to his obituary. He joined the Army after high school and was deployed to Iraq for a year. 

A funeral for Hassan was held Monday at Word of God in Columbia. He was buried at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
