Questions Remain in Case of Pelion High School Grenade
Deputies are still trying to figure out why a grenade was at the school.
Deputies are still investigating how and why a training grenade in a military box ended up in a science lab at Pelion High School, according to the Lexington County Sheriff's Department.
The grenade, which a teacher found Friday, was not an explosive device, said Maj. John Allard. It did not contain materials that would enable someone to detonate it.
Deputies say the grenade appears to have been in the science lab for some period of time.
