Pelion Woman Dies in Crash on Edmund Highway

The crash happened around 7 a.m. Friday.

A Pelion woman died Friday morning after a two-vehicle crash on Edmund Highway, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol. 

Bobby Jane Cook, 57, was driving a 2007 Hyundai when she collided with another car in the 6900 block of Edmund Highway around 7 a.m., according to the Lexington County Coroner's Office. 


Cook was transported to Palmetto Health Richland, where she later died from injuries sustained in the crash, according to the coroner's office. She was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The driver of the other car, a Lexington woman, and an 18-year-old passenger were transported to Lexington Medical Center, according to the highway patrol.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol MAIT are investigating the wreck.
