Man Sought in Break-ins at Four Gaston Businesses

Lexington County police are looking for a suspect in the recent break-ins of four businesses in Gaston.

Lexington County law enforcement agencies are seeking information about a man they say was involved in four break-ins between August and September.

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department and Gaston Police say the suspect — described as a white, heavy-set male — broke into four businesses in the Gaston area between Aug. 22 and Sept. 20.

The following burglaries were reported to the sheriff’s department:

The first burglary was reported at about 1:23 a.m. on Aug. 22 at the Jasmin Grocery at 500 Ballpark Road. The man broke into the business and stole two 18-packs of beer.

The second burglary was reported at about 5:52 a.m. on Aug. 22 at the Gaston ABC liquor store at 166 North Main Street. The man broke into the store and stole bottles of vodka and Crown Royal whiskey as well as an undisclosed amount of cash.

The third burglary was reported at about 12:54 a.m. on Sept. 20 at D & M Foods at 4289 Fish Hatchery Road. The man attempted to break into the business but was unable to gain entry.

The fourth burglary was reported at about 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 20 at Fred’s at 106 Jimmy Martin Circle. The man broke into the business and stole at least two cartons of Marlboro cigarettes.
