Local Cops to Raise Money for Special Olympics
"Cops and Calabash" kicks off Wednesday at Fatz Cafe in Lexington.
All cops are sworn to protect and serve. Starting tomorrow, several local cops will be focusing on the latter.
resident deputies, code enforcement officers and school resource officers, and officers, will work as servers during a "Cops and Calabash" fundraiser for South Carolina Special Olympics that will be conducted between 11 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday at , at 942 East Main Street in Lexington.
All proceeds will benefit Special Olympics. Last year, the event netted $7,177.
Officers will serve customers who eat at the restaurant and will donate all of their tips to Special Olympics. Customers also will be able to leave donations for Special Olympics at their tables during the fund raiser.
