Lexington Man Dies in Crash on Pond Branch Road
The wreck happened around 6:50 a.m. Wednesday.
A 52-year-old Lexington man died early Wednesday morning after a crash on Pond Branch Road in Leesville.
David E. Howell Jr. was driving east around 6:50 a.m. when his Chevrolet Lumina ran off the right side of the road, Trooper Brent Kelly said. Howell overcorrected, crossed the center lane and struck another vehicle.
Howell was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle, a Leesville woman, was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The S.C. Highway Patrol and the Lexington County Coroner's Office are investigating the wreck.
