2 Women Charged During Meth Lab Seizure Near Pelion

Two Lexington County women were charged in connection with a meth lab operation at a home near Pelion.

Two women were arrested on Tuesday when Lexington County officers seized a meth lab at a home near Pelion.

Jessica Nicole Ellison, 31, of Dakota Road, West Columbia, was charged with possessing methamphetamine, according to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department. Mindy Angela Proctor, 28, of Bushberry Road, Pelion, was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine.

Both women were being held Wednesday at the Lexington County Detention Center while awaiting bond hearings.

Around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies detected a strong chemical odor coming from Proctor’s home, according to a sheriff’s department release. Deputies say they found a device that is used in the process of manufacturing methamphetamine in a garbage can inside Proctor’s home as well as methamphetamine.

Officers with the Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team assisted with the investigation.
