BRING 'EM HOME SOON!

Keep a close watch on your pets during this holiday season. December is a prime time to make a profit off a pet found on Craigslist, in the newspaper or even in your backyard. These animals are often re-sold as pets with false histories, bred for profit making litters, or used as part of dog fighting rings as fighters or bait. The disturbing reality is that no area is safe, nor is any animal immune from these actions.  In recent weeks a likely dog theft ring has been involved in the disappearances of over two dozen dogs in Lexington County, SC. The selected breeds of Pit, Boxer, Lab, Shepherd and various similar mixes makes this an extremely urgent case, as these dogs are likely not being stolen for resale.  A Pelion resident recently offered her home to two shepherd mixes after a large 41 dog hoarding case was resolved in NC. Right before Thanksgiving the dogs both went missing. One foster dog was located, but in the search to find the other it was quickly discovered that her dog was not the only one in the area to suddenly go missing. After knocking on doors, calling the numbers on neighborhood flyers, checking Craigslist, and posting on local Facebook pages, the coincedences quickly became too many, too recent, and too close together.  The owners of the missing dogs have united around a common cause; to bring their dogs home safely. They have scoured the streets on foot and in their cars. They have created a facebook page, a dedicated email address and a special phone number that can be contacted with tips, advice, support and any information pertaining to the missing pets. They have shared the situation with local Lexington County, SC residents, businesses, rescues and shelters. There have even been police reports filed. However, there has been no luck in locating the dogs thus far.  The rescue involved has posted a reward of $500 for the safe return of “Angel” a petite 1 year old female shepherd mix. No questions asked. There are additional rewards for the other dogs missing. If you have any information that pertains to this situation, please use one of the following methods to share it.  https://www.facebook.com/pages/Bringemhomesoon/ Bringemhomesoon@gmail.com (864)756-1486
