White Knoll High Art Society Wins Art Competition

The group won a cash prize for designing the winning rain barrel in an art competition.

White Knoll High’s National Art Honor Society received $300 for designing the winning rain barrel in the Carolina Clemson Rain Barrel Art Competition.

The art competition, sponsored by Keep the Midlands Beautiful, increases awareness of storm water runoff pollution in Lexington and Richland counties. Rain barrels are used by homeowners to collect rainwater for gardening while decreasing storm water runoff from their property.

The society’s winning barrel design features the University of South Carolina mascot, Cocky.
