Lexington Library Offering ID Theft Protection Classes

Want to learn how to protect your identity on the Internet?

The Lexington Main Library is offering a series of classes on identity theft protection.

Murray Montgomery Jr., president and CEO of Womple Inc., will present one class for college students, one for seniors and one for users of social networking sites.

Here are the scheduled classes:

ID Theft Protection for College Students
Tuesday, Aug. 27 
6:30-7:30 p.m.
Ages: 15 and up
Location: Meeting room at Lexington Main Library
Description: College students are at risk for identity theft because their credit records are blank and can be easily used to secure new credit. Identity thieves know this, so they target students for identity theft. Learn steps students can take to protect their identity. 

ID Theft Protection Strategies for Seniors
Tuesday, Sept. 27
6:30-7:30 p.m.
Ages: 
15 and up 
Location: Meeting room at Lexington Main Library
Description: 
Learn why seniors are easy prey and the warning signs of identity fraud against seniors. 

ID Theft for Social Networking Websites
Tuesday, Oct. 22
6:30-7:30 p.m.
Ages: 15 and up
Location: Meeting room at Lexington Main Library
Description: Learn things you should NOT do when using social networking websites.
