Visitation, Funeral Set for USC QB Allen Mitchell
Visitation for the former USC quarterback will be held Tuesday night. The funeral will be Wednesday morning.
Visitation for Allen Mitchell, a former USC quarterback, will start at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Milton Shealy Funeral Home in Batesburg-Leesville.
Funeral services for Mitchell, who died over the weekend, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lexington Baptist Church.
The Lexington County Coroner's Office ruled Mitchell's death a suicide. He was 48.
Mitchell was one of two quarterbacks who led South Carolina to its first 10-season win in 1984 as part of the "Black Magic" Gamecocks.
He leaves behind a wife, a son and a daughter.
