Man Sentenced to 25 Years in Prison for Crash That Killed Teen

David Onley, 46, was sentenced Thursday to 25 years in prison for felony DUI involving a death.

A Gaston man who crashed his pickup truck into another truck last year, killing a teen passenger, will spend 25 years in prison, according to reports.

David Onley, 46, was found guilty of felony DUI Thursday and received the maximum penalty, according to a report from WIS. 

Jonathan Lee Humphrey, II, 17, was a passenger in the Ford Ranger that Onley crashed into on Founders Road on Dec. 27, 2011, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol. Humphrey died from his injuries at Palmetto Health Richland.

Neither Humprhey nor Onley was wearing a seatbelt.

Onley was driving 85 miles per hour in a 35 mph hour zone, according to WIS. He also has previous driving under the influence and driving under suspension convictions.
