UPDATE (8 a.m. Sept. 1): Will Hunter, the Lexington High School quarterback who was injured during Friday night's loss to Blythewood, said early Saturday morning that he will be "fine."

In a tweet from WilliamHunter1, he said: "I appreciate all the texts and tweet and everybody caring about me! I'll be just fine. Will get back on track next week. Much love to all!!!"

ORIGINAL STORY: Lexington High School quarterback Will Hunter was taken to the hospital during Friday night's game against Blythewood. 

Hunter was carted off the field after being hit around 9:45 p.m., according to reports. 

Lexington lost 27-6 to Blythewood.
