Deputies Arrest 15th Person After Crack Cocaine Investigation
Frank Alexander Jones, 47, of West Columbia was arrested Friday and charged with second-offense distribution of crack cocaine.
Deputies arrested a 47-year-old West Columbia man Friday on an arrest warrant charge of second-offense distribution of crack cocaine.
Frank Alexander Jones is the 15th person arrested after a five-month undercover investigation into the sale of crack cocaine at a house in West Columbia.
Officers arrested 12 people in July on charges of distributing, possessing or attempting to buy crack cocaine from a house at 3728 Colony Park Lane. A week later, they arrested two other people on charges of distributing cocaine.
Deputies say Jones used to live at the Colony Park Lane house.
Deputy Shannon Dykes saw Jones walking in the middle of Gillins Terrace Road near West Columbia around 2:44 p.m. Friday, according to a press release. Dykes was conducting a directed patrol in the area and recognized Jones as a man wanted by the sheriff’s department. Dykes stopped his patrol car, placed Jones in investigative detention and later arrested Jones.
Jones is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center Wednesday on a $25,000 bond.
