County Budget Calls for Tax Increase, Additional Staff

Lexington County Council approves $107.3 million budget.

 

Lexington County residents will see a tax increase on their property tax bills this fall, The State reports. 

Council members approved a $107.3 million budget on Thursday.

County officials are estimating the tax increase will add $10.63 on a bill for owners of a $100,000 home.

The funds generated from the increase will be used for additional public safety staff, including 10 new firefighters, five deputies and six jail guards, according to the report.

here in lexington we dont need anymore deputies,we dont need no more than 2 county council men, the raising of property taxes are an excuse for the council to make more money,lets cut there pay and we want have to raise taxes
