Approval Rating Dropping, Haley Fights Back
The South Carolina governor has an approval rating of less than 35 percent, according to a new Winthrop Poll.
Gov. Nikki Haley, whose first year in office has been filled with ups and downs, is wrapping up the year with an approval rating of less than 35 percent.
That's according to a new Winthrop Poll released this week, with shows 43 percent of South Carolinians disapprove of the job she has done. The remaining voters were unsure.
Hurting the numbers for Haley, who was elected a year ago with 51 percent of the vote is a 52 percent approval rating among Republicans.
Haley, for her part, isn't backing down from the limelight.
Instead on Monday, she released a new YouTube video touting the thousands of jobs announced this year.

Haley is all about cut backs in education, medicaid, and for state employees. I don't see Haley taking a cut in pay and I'm sure she has the best health insurance the state can buy. I will never vote for her again.

Your first mistake was buying into the nonsense she was selling before she got elected. This woman has nothing to offer this state and he only agenda involves trips to Paris, over the top dinners to entertain her new friends at the expense of the tax payers. She has done nothing for the poor, our elders, the uninsured, education, crime her attention is on paying off her campaign donors and sending more and more of the working class money to corporate greed. This is the agenda of the entire Republican party, until voters educate themselves and realize that NOBODY is lobbying for the student or the working class or the middle class especially in the Republican Party. This state will be the last to recover if total bankruptcy is not in the near future. This womans first agenda was to give pay increases to her staff and create yet more government for her. She was not good for the state before elected she is not good for the state now and will not be tomorrow. Republicans need to think long about what their party has become, this is not the party we grew up with this is a invasion of religous zealots and right wing ideology laced with racism not just against people of color, but against anyone that isn't rich. They seem to forget that most people got rich off the backs of the working class.

I’m just curious, what does everyone think about all the jobs announcements in South Carolina over the last year. Do you think these are not real? Do you think the Governor and her team had nothing to do with bringing these jobs and investments to the state? Do you think this is just not enough to matter? Common sense should answer that question for you JimW, if we have the 6th highest unemployment in the country, I would say these are people hiring temp and firing. The method used with Michelen hire temp then lay off. Nimrata has not offered suggested, implemented any legistration that would solve the unemployment problems of this state. You can easily see what is being voted on in the legistration and you will find Abortion, disinfranchising voters, implementing drug test, things like that that don't create even one job. You can also see the corporate welfare that took the place of money for education, police, medicare, unemployment, infurstructure. This woman is a disaster for this state.

tho, i dont understand the gov's cave-in re savannah over chas ports and believe paris trip give fodder to her opponents...
on balance her policies have help create jobs as have BO's (DEM's) policies on the national scene...butbutt;

gawd i would love to see investment in big programs for SC...SC lead way out of the recession...become reagan's shining city on the nation's hill...become the next silicon valley...clemson become a MIT, cal tech...USC and SC State become harvards...MUSC is already top rated...
