7 Lexington County Petition Candidates on Ballot in November

Local and state election officials verified the petitions of seven Lexington County candidates.

Six petition candidates for local races and one petition candidate for a state race will be on the Lexington County ballot in November. 

Lexington County election officials verified the petitions of six candidates for county council seats. State election officials verified the petition of Senate District 23 candidate Katrina Shealy. 

Election officials had until noon Wednesday to make sure the candidates collected enough valid petition signatures.

The following county council petition candidates will be on the ballot: 

  • Megan Hutto - County Council District 1
  • Scott Adams - County Council District 3 
  • Wes Howard - County Council District 3 
  • Darrell Hudson - County Council District 3  
  • Anthony Keisler - County Council District 3 
  • Brian Duncan - County Council District 5

Hutto will face Republican incumbent Jim Kinard in November. Duncan will face Republican incumbent Bobby Keisler.

Republican Kent Collins is also running for County Council District 3.

Shealy is running against Republican incumbent Sen. Jake Knotts.
