You read the news every day and see all the crimes that are committed. Who's losing what, disasters and etc. Well today I read another article. It made me think about some of our citizens here in South Carolina. It was the "Palmetto Ironmen of SC."
These are men who have given their time to train so they can compete and raise money for South Carolina's wounded warriors! They are great people. It's too easy to hear about the wounds of our soldiers, then to just go along with our lives.
I am a veteran and know first hand about being away from family and the emotional hurt that a soldier and their families feel. I have been involved with the wounded warrior program but not to the degree of these men and their families.
I am hoping that by writing this that it will bring attention to their cause and help then raise the $10,000 that will go directly to the wounded warriors and their families. Do not forget these soldiers have given up their lives as we know it by serving our country, going to war, and now having to deal with pain, suffering, emotional problems and financial problems.
So if you are able to help, you can call 803-600-6306 or go to www.stayclassy.org/fundraise?cid=185417. Thank you Jon Cochran, Jon Black, Ernie Yarborough and Dough Martin. I am proud to live in South Carolina along the side of these men!
